About Tramadol - Generic Ultram
Tramadol - Generic Ultram iis in a class of medications called opiate agonists. It works by changing the way the body senses pain. This acts centrally (in the brain) to modulate the sensation of pain and has no anti-inflammatory effect. It is a stronger pain reliever than acetaminophen, but probably not as strong as the narcotic agents. This was developed by the German pharmaceutical company Grünenthal GmbH in the late 1970s and marketed under the trade name Tramal.

Adverse Reactions, Precautions and Warning
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any other medications. Do not forget to tell your doctor and pharmacist your medical history, what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. The most commonly reported adverse reactions are nausea, vomiting, sweating and constipation. You should know that this may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting when you get up from a lying position. To avoid this, get out of bed slowly, resting your feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up. Get emergency medical help right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness in one part or side of the body, or slurred speech. This can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take more often, or take for a longer period of time than prescribed by your doctor. Taking the medication in a way that is not recommended may cause serious side effects or death. Taking more than prescribed by your doctor may cause serious side effects or death.

Usage, Directions, Indication and Instructions
This is used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain and most types of neuralgia, including trigeminal neuralgia. This is often a good option for treatment of low back pain because patients do not build up a tolerance with extended usage and there is a very low incidence of addiction.It has been suggested that this could be effective for alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety because of its action on the noradrenergic and serotonergic systems, the involvement of which appears to play a part in its ability to alleviate the perception of pain. However, health professionals have not yet endorsed its use on a large scale for disorders such as this.

Dosage and Administration
This is usually taken with or without food every 4-6 hours as needed. The regularly prescribed dose is one to two 50mg tablets every four to six hours, not to exceed eight pills a day. Exceeding the prescribed dose may lead to respiratory depression or seizures.Take exactly as directed. Do not take more medication as a single dose or take more doses per day than prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually. If you suddenly stop you may experience withdrawal symptoms.
